The cheque is personal. There is no committee.
I write early into deep tech and AI — usually pre-seed, sometimes the first seed. Founders still building the hard thing, not dressing a slide for a process.
The through-line is the same as the rest of my work: make hard things usable, and make an organisation capable of them. Technical depth. High-stakes settings. People who can hold research, product, and go-to-market in one span.
Prototype. Founding team. Open technical risk. Not growth.
In
- Deep tech where the science or the system is the company
- AI that has to work under real constraints — enterprise, regulated, physical, infrastructure
- Europe-rooted teams who will sell into large organisations
Out
- Feature wraps on someone else’s model
- Consumer social, adtech, generic SaaS
- Anything that needs a fund’s balance sheet to survive year one
Besides the cheque
- The org — teams that ship under regulation and across countries
- The door — EMEA enterprise and financial services, when the company is ready
- Not a promise of customers on day one
Selective with time, open to substance. If you are raising a pre-seed in deep tech or AI and the work is real, write.
